Summary of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023
Here’s a brief summary of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023, a half annual event held by Samsung where it showcases and announces their new devices with this year main focuses of Galaxy Ultra S23 and Galaxy Book 3.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked this year was presented in front of an audience in San Francisco’s Masonic Auditorium, marking it the first in-person event for Samsung in the last three years. It was started on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 1PM ET/10AM PT. The first Galaxy Unpacked event highlighted their latest smartphone and a brand-new laptop. Galaxy 23 Ultra

The latest Samsung flagship, Galaxy 23 Ultra, it comes with a lot of changes, it also features a new 200-megapixel camera sensor, even if it’s not the first time Samsung made a 200-megapixel camera, but this is the first time it has shown on its flagship devices. The additional read camera includes a 12-megapixel ultrawide and 10-megapixel telephoto lens, the selfie camera features a 12-megapixel camera, and the back now doesn’t have a think bump like Galaxy S22 does.
The Galaxy S23 Ultra also has a 5,000mAh battery and a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. A couple memory options are available for the upcoming Galaxy S flagship, including one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and another with 12GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1TB of internal storage.
Galaxy S23 will be available 17 this month with four variant of colors, Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender. However, Samsung notes that those that purchase directly from its website will also have access to Lime, Graphite, Sky Blue, and Red.

Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Series

The tech giant also announced Galaxy Book 3, With a 16-inch AMOLED display, lots of ports and seamless connectivity with other Galaxy devices, the Ultra redefines premium laptops for Samsung. The laptop of course like any other Samsung products like Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Tablet or Galaxy Ultra Phone, the ultra laptop will also have the best performance with tons of feature and an excellent display. Just like any other ultra series, Galaxy Book 3 also comes with Galaxy Book 3 Pro and Pro 360, which are a notch below ultra in performance wise, but still have a lot of features to offer along with their own extra feature.
Just like we said before, the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra is the best, it has an AMOLED screen so you’ll get amazing color and contrast with 16:10 ratio screen so it gives you an extra vertical space with 120Hz refresh rate for smother-looking performance with resolution of 2,880x1,800 pixels. Unlike their predecessor Book 2 Pro that didn’t have any discreet graphics card, the Ultra variant will have either RTX 4050 or 4070 graphic chip and they’ll also be paired with a 13th gen Intel Core i7 or i9 respectively.
A 1080p webcam, a quad-speaker audio system, a fingerprint reader on the power button, and a larger 76-watt-hour battery are just a few of the fantastic things you get for those prices. The Ultra variant includes a two Thunderbolt USB-C ports, a microSD card slot, and a headphone socket in addition to having more connectors than the Galaxy Book 2 Pro, and it also has an HDMI 2.0 output. And all of those features we mentioned before is also included in the Pro variants with the exceptions being the Core i9 processor doesn’t have a discreet graphics card. But the upside is the 16-inch Galaxy Book 3 Pro is 4 millimeters thinner and about half pound lighter than the Ultra variant which is 16.5 mm thick with the total weight of 4 pound. The Pro variant also will be available in 14-inch size with 2.6 pounds of total weight.
The Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 16-inch is come with Samsung’s excellent S pen, and since it’s geared toward creatives and other business professionals, you’ll have a lot of space to draw or take notes and it makes a great digital whiteboard for meetings and such. The other feature we should mentions is the high-res webcam, port assortment and quad speakers on the Ultra are here too, and somehow, it's was the only model to come with optional 5G wireless connectivity.
Just like Galaxy Books predecessor, the new Ultra and Pro laptop are made work with other Galaxy devices as well, such as transferring file back and forth between the two with ease. You can work with one of the Galaxy devices and finished it in other Galaxy devices, for example you can work with your Galaxy phone and finishing it on your Galaxy book, you also can use your Tab S8 as a wireless external monitor for the laptop’s screen. We know this kind of feature Apple does and of course they do it very well but Samsung is catching up quickly with the assistance from Intel and Microsoft. We also need to mentioned that this laptop is meet Microsoft’s secure-core PC requirement. that means that this laptop has an excellent enterprise-level of security.
Unlike the Samsung’s phone, this laptop only come in graphite or beige variant. Despite that it has a nice clean sleek look with improved build quality. It studier, stiffer and stronger which certainly a plus point for a laptop although they also make it bit heavier.
Samsung's website now accepts preorders for the Galaxy Book 3 Ultra, Pro, and Pro 360 notebooks with the Pro models are expected to begin shipping on February 17.
