Lenovo Vantage Explanation, Check This If You Have It

Lenovo Vantage, a main or central for accessing and controlling different system settings and functionalities of a Lenovo laptop. For those of you who have a Lenovo laptop, check out the following explanation about Lenovo Vantage.

PC or Personal Computer has become one of must be owned items at this time. Personal computers are utilized as a tool used for various purposes such as working, communicating, browsing, entertainment activities like watching movies and playing games, and many more. However, not a few people prefer laptops instead of desktop PCs because it has advantages such as portability, compactness, convenience, power efficiency, and price. Besides a high-performance hardware, supporting software is also one of the main appeals of a laptop.

Therefore, laptop manufacturers also provide supporting software so that their laptops can run optimally. Lenovo, this Chinese company has developed software called Lenovo Vantage for their PCs and laptops since 2017. As the name implies, this software is one of the advantages you can get for free (pre-installed) if you buy Lenovo products. Software that can be downloaded on Lenovo’s website (https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/software/vantage/) is a main or central for accessing and controlling different system settings and functionalities and only run on windows 11 and 10. Let's talk about this Lenovo Vantage further.

On the main page, you can see the type of laptop you have in the top left corner. You can also see your CPU workload and remaining storage here. If you hover over the section, it will show the type of processor used along with the frequency or the brand and serial number of the storage.

After you click on “Info” you will be served with more detailed laptop specifications, starting from the serial number, product number, and bios version used. You can perform system updates through this Lenovo Vantage. Besides that, you can check the hardware here if you think there is something wrong with your laptop. To check your warranty Status, click the section on the upper right side, then you will be directed to the Lenovo website. Some useful Q&As (Question and Answer) are also provided here.

Back to the main page, on the top right there is a Legion Edge section.

  • Thermal Mode: this will allow you to change the laptop mode from performance, balance and quiet (overclocking can also be done here). There is also a switch to move to performance mode automatically when you open a game.
  • Network Boost: this will automatically prioritize games to the highest level within your network and maximizing the speed. Enable this feature and add your game to the list.
  • Auto Close: when this feature on, every time you open a game, other program on the list will be closed automatically.
  • Over Drive: this is a feature that allows users to overclock their system's performance.
  • Touchpad Lock: you will not be able to use the touchpad if this switch is on. You can also access it via the function row on the keyboard (different types of laptops will have different shortcuts).

On the bottom of the Legion Edge section, there are 2 quick settings and Legion Spectrum. Turn on the Rapid Charge switch so that your laptop can charge faster. In order to make the battery last longer, it is recommended to turn it on only under certain circumstances. Turn on WiFi Security switch if you used a public network to be more secure. Legion Spectrum is used to customize the backlit color and effect of your laptop’s keyboard. There’s provided 4 kinds of profiles that you can set as you like.

The last one is the System Tools section.

  • System Update: this allows you to check if there is an update, make an update, and see the update history. There is an auto update option, you can turn it on for critical updates, recommended updates, or even both.
  • Macro Key: you can record and create macro keys as you like here, you can also set them to always on, only on when gaming, or turn them off if you don't use macro keys at all.
  • Power: this allows you to see your battery warranty, battery remaining, and the battery health. On this section you can also turn on/off rapid charge option and conservation mode (limit battery to 55 – 60% while charge to maximized the battery lifespan. There is also a flip to start switch that will make your laptop auto turns on when the screen is lifted.
  • Legion Arena: this will open Legion Arena programs.
  • Media: there is an eye care mode option, you can adjust the color temperature, warm colors are good for your sleeping especially in the night, or you can filter out the blue light when you use your computer for a long time. There are also settings to adjust brightness and contrast of camera (webcam) and auto exposure switch.
  • Hardware Scan: this will allow you to perform a hardware scan. You can do a quick scan, or customize which part that you want between Audio Controller, Battery, Processor, Motherboard, PCI Express, Wireless, Storage, and Memory.
  • Nahimic: this will open Nahimic program to adjust various option like Audio profile (music, movie, communication, gaming, and smart/auto switch), Microphone settings, Sound tracker for games, and many more.
