How To Make A Website On Canva

Let's Start Create Your Website

Lads, before we go, that might be a good thing to re-check your requirement here.

What do we need :

1. Laptop/PC (Mobile Phone is not reccomended)
2. Good Signal Strength

After those requirement are all set, let's start.

1. Open Canva.com

All you need to start is open your browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, etc.) then go to the search bar and start typing "canva.com". After type canva.com, You can press your "Enter" keyboard to visit the website.

2. Register

Next up, sign up or login on canva in order to enjoy the whole features. Basically, there are 2 ways of registration. It's really easy and doesn't even take so much time.

Okay.

This step requires you to register using your Social Media or Email.

There are many ways to sign up using your social media or email.

• Facebook
• Google Account
• Apple
• Microsoft
• Clever
• Email

If you are new with Canva, I suggest you to sign up with the most used account such as Google Account or Facebook.

Don't worry, Canva.com won't gain any access of your social media.

Canva only needs to simply verify and make sure that you are not a "robot".

What to do is :

1. First, go click Sign up for free or Sign up
2. Choose your preferable account or contact
3. Allow access for Canva to sign up.
4. Then, wait for a moment until you are redirected to Canva.com.

As you can see, you will see the main page of Canva.com. It means that you are successfully logged in.

Now we're ready!

Login

If you have registered, then you must login to your account.

Choose your login credit that were used to sign up.

Why is so important using a most used social media account?

Canva stores your projects that only be accessible with your account. Even we can make a group project later, but it seems impossible to do such a group project with ourselves using too many account. So make sure that you remember the right access to your profile.

Note : Mobile Phone is only available for login (Which means you should've being registered with any other account before)

Here is how to login :

1. First, go to Login. It appears on the top right of the main page.
2. Then, choose your account you used to sign up
3. Wait for a moment until you redirected to Canva Main Page

After that, you are all set and ready to go!

3. Create your website on Canva

Alright, after you are logged in to Canva you may start build your website now.

1. First, on the main page after you are logged in, you will see "What will you design today?". Click on the search bar right on the bottom of it, and type "Website".
2. Then you will see some options appears, you may choose one of the options but I suggest you to click "Website" that I show you with the red direction to make it easy.
3. There are gonna be bunch of website templates you can use over than 1000+ that will give you a better option. Choose the template that you like.

In this part, you don't have to study or even learn how to code like a professional. 

Just use the template that is available. Remember, canva will give you a free 5 website for free users with .my.canva.site domain. If you want to get more, go premium by paying for a membership.

4. Pick Your Website Template and Customize

There are several models of website on Canva you can use. These are made for Portfolio, Online Shop, Company Website and many more. Let's pick your any of your desired website that match with your demand. For example, I picked this Tech Website model.

Then, go to Customize This Template.

You are now in the editor section. In this section, everything is editable here.

From the text, images and layouts.

Everything.

This will allow you to customize your own website with just drag & drop.

No experience needed for this one. You can easily add or remove object you want.

You can edit the website name with your own company or business,

5. Adding Image or Logo

If you want to change the logo or adding some necessary elements here is what to do :

1. Go to the left side of the page, click on Upload an Image or Video
2. Choose your files, then click open.

Or if you are already downloaded the resource, just drag and drop the image or video to the upload area.

6. Adding or Edit Text

Canva gives you access to edit and replace the templated words and slogan then replace it with your owns. To edit the text, click 2x on the text you want to edit. Then replace the whole text with your desired slogan or marketing text.

After your are finished editing the text, simply click your cursor anywhereon the main screen.

7. Adding Links To Your Website

There are provided space for people to attach or linked their Social Media or Contacts or even anything on Canva.

You can add your external links such as Shopify, Amazon, Instagram, Tiktok, Email and many more. This is a very helpful way to let the people know how to connect with you or buying your stuffs.

For example, I am putting a random link just to tell you that it works. And this is how to do it :

1. Right Click on the text surface or image surface, then select Link.
2. Write down your link under the "Enter a Link or Search"
3. Press Enter.

Follow these instruction here.

1. Right Click on the object (Text or Image)

2. Select Link on the bottom of the list

3. Add your link

You wanna see if it's working or not? Complete the website and publish for the result! And see what happen :)

8. Publishing Your Website

Are you ready to launch your website? Follow this instruction.

1. First, go hit the Publish Website on the top right corner of the page.
2. Select Free Domain, means that you will be given a free domain by canva limited only for 5 websites.
3. Next up, Continue.
4. Now, try to add your subdomain website. You can add your brand or company for the reference.
5. After that, click Continue.

Follow these instructions here.

1. Click on Publish Website button

Go to the top right corner of the canva page, you will see the Publish Website with a small square icon. Click on the button.

2. Select Free Domain

What does that mean?

Free domain is a canva feature that allow a free member to try this feature without paying any amount of money. Perfect step for starting your small business. Otherwise, become a pro membership isn't a bad idea, tho. More excellent features you will get after. Trust me, it's worthy.

3. Pick a Name for your Website

Shortly, subdomain is a nickname of your website. A website should be named in order to get identified by the visitors. You may use your own brand or company name for the references. Fill the box up with your store name, your brand name or your own name (only for a portfolio website).

Alright next, write your web description here. You may add browser tab description that will appear soon after you publish your website. That browser description will be a name of your website that will be seen on the active tab on your browser.

Pro Tips : Use your Brand name and the slogan and separate them with " - " on the browser tab review.

Last step is click Publish.

9. Congratulation!

Your first website is live now!

Please go check your website by copying the web links that given after the loading screen.
